Following the Vienna Diktat, the Faculty of Agriculture in Cluj found refuge in Timişoara, where it was hosted by the Polytechnics. On July 30, 1945, King Michael I promulgated the Act 617 for the establishment of the Faculty of Agronomy in Timişoara, an act that is considered its birth certificate. On this occasion, the Faculty was granted several farms: Timişoara, Ceala-Arad, Voiteni, and Teremia Mare.
As a result of the Reformation of Education in 1948, they founded the Agronomic Institute in Timişoara, which kept this name, with different structures, until 1990. By that time, they had also established a Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and a Faculty of Animal Husbandry.
After 1990, our Faculty had a quick development; at present, it has 5 departments and it trains in 6 majors. Graduates can also go through an MSc cycle and then through a PhD Cycle.
